A long time ago, though a couple of years after the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 – under the horribly false pretense of the nuclear threat Saddam Hussein allegedly posed to the world- we were sitting at a dinner table with international guests.
Somehow it was tacitly agreed on by everybody that we would avoid talking about the topics money, religion and/ or politics.
Suddenly a US American guest threw the question into the room: “Why is it that everybody in the world hates us, the US Americans?”
There was a moment of complete stillness. Nobody dared or was willing to answer bearing in mind that there shouldn’t be any confrontation at a pleasant dinner congregation.
Then, suddenly someone ventured: “Well, you see, it wasn’t right of the USA to claim that Saddam posed a threat to the world, that he had amassed nuclear weapons or at least the potential to produce them in no time.”
The other guests all nodded assent to this but added politely that, of course, this had nothing to do with ordinary, normal Americans, especially nice dinner guests.
Then the hostess interfered and reminded everyone that all her guests should enjoy the evening and not debate political issues. So, back to normal, back to politeness, to «Courant normal» of guests as well as later to politicians of the big world.
Especially after big bully Bush junior had lost his job and handed over to nice Obama.

And now the world has THE SUPER BULLY in the White House. A more narcistic, egomaniac, erratic and insane person has never held office in the United States.
Every day the world has been holding its breath in anticipation of another folly or imbecility thought of or ordered by that most unpredictable male.

It isn’t enough that there is that criminal Putin in his ridiculous gilded palace in Moscow waging a cruel and criminal war against Ukraine. While the poor people of Ukraine are freezing to death in an icy cold winter because Putin throws bombs on vital infrastructure day and night, he is sitting in one of his many palaces, gilded to the nines, warm and comfortable. A bigger war criminal hasn’t been seen for over 80 years in Europa.

It is also not enough that the world has the problem of the Chinese Head of State continually throwing his weight around bullying everybody in South East Asia into compliance and continually threatening Taiwan with an invasion.

No, there must also be the “Trampeltier” in the west, trampling on everybody’s nerve and misbehaving in a way one might expect from an especially ill-educated, spoiled little brat of five, but never from a well-educated (which he isn’t sadly, though) male of 80.

Canadian Mr Carney is completely right when he asks the smaller and middle powers of this world to stand together and not go along with or accept any of the absurdities, infamies and impertinence of people like Trump any more.

Enough is enough.

And though it must be admitted that sadly most of the worst dictators in the world normally become very old – why, is a real mystery… maybe because their malice and venom keeps death at bay -, there still comes a day, their day, when they decline and die, sooner or later. Good riddance.

Maybe one day, the world will have the alternative to put all these unnecessary dictators into a spaceship flying to Mars. And there is no return ticket possible, for sure.

And, dear American dinner guest of long ago: Here is the answer to your question. Though, it must be modified a bit: Not ALL Americans voted for Trump. But the ones who did… my, oh my, they have something to answer for.
